A very unique media, this art form takes advantage of the contrast between inner and outer shell layers. With ostrich and rhea shells, The image is painted and fine detailing and lighter areas are etched onto the shell surface, revealing the lighter shell layer beneath. Emu shells are naturally dark teal in color and especially suited for moonlight images such as the wolf shown here. Wrap-around designs. |
